Sustainability Awards Trophy

Trophy project
I was approached by the conference department in my company to redesign the trophy for the World Sustainability Award. This award is presented to people who have made significant contributions to scholarly research on sustainability. Historically, the trophy consisted of a glass plaque, with printing in white ink, held up by a wooden base. These were tricky to make, ship, hard to showcase on camera, and they weren’t particularly sustainable.

We set off to create a more striking, practical, and sustainable piece. We started by sourcing wood from a local provider with an eco-friendly guarantee. We kept the shape simple to draw attention to the texture of the wood and the laser-etched design. The lotus flower that dominates the brand identity of the awards themselves serves as the marquee element that guides the eye to the rest of the information.
